The best way to produce quality photographs of your pets is to hire a professional photographer. The next best way is to follow this simple tutorial. You'll need to have good photographic equipment, and you'll need to follow the "P's" of pet photography; PLANNING, PATIENCE and POST-PROCESSING!

Equipment:

Although the ideal photographic setup involves the use of a single-lens-reflex camera with interchangeable lenses, an off camera flash, a remote or cable release, and a tripod, you may get quality shots without all of the above. This tutorial assumes you are shooting with a digital camera, and most likely a point&shoot camera. If you are, you should try and choose a camera with a tripod socket, a remote control or at the bare minimum a self timer, and manual exposure settings. In order to produce high resolution photos as large as 8 X 10, you should have at least 4MB capacity, and you should use as large a capacity digital card as possible.
